Wonderful sounding. It was a little amusing that the crowd reacted to the the high notes but not to the double stop harmony which is technically much more challenging and musically more interesting. It also raises the the bar for any of these celebrity walk-ons who wish to attempt to sing the anthem.

The concert world is going to hear a lot from this young woman!

I just wish they would dispense with soloists altogether and just have every stand and sing the National Anthem, or have a marching band, whether military or school, play it properly and folks could sing along if they wanted. Can’t tell you how silly I’ve flet trying to stand at attention and sometimes saluting, while some “artist” wails and hollars their way through some improvized travesty of our National Anthem. The whole thing is undignified and disrespectful. That said, I suppose a fine instrumentalist, sticking strictly to the tune, would be a fine alternative.

Make that “everyone,” and “felt.” Must proof before hitting “send!”

Whatever happened to grabbing your crotch and spitting? Without, at least, some screaming passing for singing, I didn’t even recocnize that song as the National Anthem.
